My Favourite Blog Reads Part 2

I read blogs through work and I read blogs at home, I am an all round blog obsessive with a good eye for a good read; even if I do say so myself.  For me personally, a good blog is inspiring imagery with an aspirational edge, inspirational outfits and witty content - where I either learn something new or just have a little giggle.

If you want to know who I already count as must-reads, then check out the first installment of this (probably never-ending) series of posts.  For tonight, I leave you with the next lot of my absolute fave reads - enjoy.

Checks and Suede

As a blogger, it is a mandatory procedure to snap yourself, in, on and around a row of white houses. However, I tend to be a more urban backdrop kinda girl - street, brick wall, graffiti, that sort of thing -  maybe living East has injected me with the love for grime? Who knows. But, urban backdrop loving aside, it's safe to say that after this blog post I am a fully fledged row of white houses fan, and now intend on frequenting the West side a little more often.  Don't worry my love for graffiti is still there, but I must admit, I love how grown-up and fresh these photos are looking!

These were shot over the weekend, walking from The V&A down to Harrods, on what was an incredibly touristy weekend with 2 of my friends from back home. Neither bloggers, but thankfully, completely well aware of the sentence 'Could you take my pictures', and actually quite the dab hand with a camera, so off I dragged them down a side road for a good 'ole' fashioned #OOTD.

My usual style mixes vintage alongside high-street, and my new, much-loved Lindex skirt brings an old, faded 90s Levis shirt right back up to date. Styled with my faithful leather jacket and pointed Boohoo boots it's the perfect Saturday strolling attire.

A-Line Skirt

Hello my loves, how are we all? I am feeling a little under the weather, so am currently in bed snuggled under fluffy throws and munching on a subway - the perfect lazy Sunday evening set-up.

I shot this look with Carms after work a couple of weeks back, we were making the most of the light evenings before they disappear completely and we are thrown into months of darkness.  I was attempting a smarter look for work, so styled an a-line skirt with all black, pointed flat boots and my Radley Bag - end results being, super-smart and office-appropriate.  This skirt was such a great new-season buy, comfortable and on-trend - the perfect dress up or down piece. Next outfit plans will involve a denim shirt, trainers and leather jacket I think!

I love this time of year, there's a chill in the air, the sun is still shining and it's cold enough for tights and boots, yet there's no need for that huge winter coat. Light layers, tights and skirt combos and an oversized scarf is the perfect recipe for these bright autumnal days, which I love.

Another good thing about entering a new season is that it's wardrobe change around time,
I get to remind myself of the coats and jeans that I forgot I had, whilst also sadly, be reminded that I was somewhat smaller this time last year. God damn you London social life, you're causing havoc with my waistline.

Chilled Friday Nights

Sometimes, every now and then you just need a chilled night in, snuggled under the duvet with a lorry load of chocolate, a good book and netflix.  It's no secret I love a good night out but when it comes down to it, I'm a geek at heart and these day's staying in is just as high on my agenda as going out.

If I am not going out then the minute I step through my front door it's literally bra off, hair up and PJ's on.  People that chill in jeans BLOW MY MIND. I need to be comfy and warm, so come this time of year it's fluffy sock and slipper combo at the ready (sooo fash-un darling).

One blustery September afternoon I was contacted by Tommy Tou, and as if my slipper magic was very kindly sent a pair of cosy, sheepskin slipper mules. They knew the time had come for me to upgrade from the flip flop to the slipper. Yes, I wear flip flops around the house in the summer.

So this is how my Friday night set-up is looking so far, I have some friends from back home visiting which I am absolutely buzzing about - however, hopefully they'll bring their own slippers.

LFW Outfit Day 3

This post marks the end of my fashion week outfits, I did do the whole 5 days but only managed to snap 3 of my looks, which you can see HERE and HERE, not forgetting my funny outtakes from Fashion Week, which you can read/laugh at HERE.

So, for the final fash week look I kept it super-chilled - I donned my favorite ASOS jeans, teaming them with a pair of comfy Boohoo boots and my new Lindex scarf. This outfit verged on the border of laziness which was mainly due to the hangover I was battling with.
God love a pair dark sunglasses.

The not so glamorous side to Fashion Week

Let's be honest, Fashion Week sounds a lot more glamorous than it really is because in reality it's not; instead, think sore feet, queuing, torrential rain and above all, major outfit pressure. As a blogger, I of course document and share the good stuff, but as someone who doesn't take herself to seriously and is always up for LOL's I thought why not share the bad, the ugly and the damn right funny side of fashion week. So, welcome to My Fashion Week - The Outtakes Post...

Coffee breaks between shows resulted in a major latte spillage #Glam

Day 1 was a complete wash out. Only Megs and Lizzy could look so wonderful hiding from the rain!

Remember me mentioning sore feet? Well Lizzy fell victim to the blister, thankfully she had a more comfortable choice of footwear on hand. #Glam

Street style was on point on the streets of soho this season.

No we don't eat in posh hotels and restaurants, we go all out in Yo Sushi, after all it was Blue September! #FWIS

Another wonderful food establishment played host to our drunken food cravings. This was the night when I was only meant to stay for 1 *ahem.

After the earlier coffee spillage I mentioned dried out, we were sadly left with an attractive stain #Glam

Megs on her 10th Ribena of the day, refueling outside Boots. #Glam

Fashion Week isn't Fashion Week if you don't pick a spot and then have to stop to wait 10 minutes for it to stop bleeding. Linds still manages to look gorgeous whilst doing this though!

When you're taking outfit posts and then a bin lorry typically turns into the side road you decided to shoot down. Good job CarmenAmberLolliMegs and Laura knew what to do. #StrikeAPose

Loved the back drop to Fashion Week this season.

When your pal needs an eye drop hit on route to a show. Carms I'm always here for you suga. #Glam

Another food stop, naturally Pret A Manger had to feature in our Fashion Week. #HungryBloggers

Nothing rounds of Fashion Week like a Sainbury's own microwavable lasgne, garlic bread and Kinder bueno. #Glam

Well I hope you like my funny take on Fashion Week, because if you can't laugh at yourself and be a total idiot with your friends then you're just missing out in my eyes.

Fashion Week was a blast and I was very lucky to see some amazing shows which you can check out over on my Instagram, but snapping at the usually unseen moments of one of the most glamorous week's of the year added a major fun factor to my week.

P.S I hope my lovely friends who were featured in this post will still continue to be my lovely friends!
