#DIY Denim & Lace

OK so I have featured this denim jacket on here before but its a DIY that I will wear over and over again.  £5 in a charity shop, sliced the arms off and added some gold studs - sorted. 

 

The lace shorts used to be leggings, I chopped them up when I went to Ibiza last year to wear underneath my Levis shorts and fancied styling them another way but minus the shorts! 

 

I have seen so many lace flares over the blogsphere at the moment (which I think inspired me to dig out these lace shorts!) and I love them, they look so cool on the bloggers I have seen style them.

Not sure if I could get away with them but I would definitely give it a go.

It's statement peice, chunky and gold - what more could I want.

M&S AW13 Press Day...

Now I know what you are all thinking, Abbie from Fashion Tatt, an M&S customer?  You would be right, however after the impressive Press Day I attended on Wednesday I have been well and truly converted.

 

Usually I am only seen buying their underwear and a few smart items for work but I can honestly say I am eagerly awaiting the launch of their AW13 collection so I can go and nab a few keys pieces for winter.

 

Their modern re-vamp headed up by style director Belinder Earl Shows fashion focused, strong and contemporary collections.  For me I would look to choose a couple of key wardrobe pieces that I can wear in versatile ways and then style them with my charity shop bargains to put my stamp and personality on the outfit.  A mixture of high street and vintage – totally me.

 

Myself and my fellow fashion friend Heather who works for a Trend Intelligence agency were welcomed in to the beautiful venue with refreshments and canapés only then to be given an informative guided tour of the new collections....

They have created garments with exceptional quality whilst still concentrating on the trends and keeping the collections vibrant and modern.

Acid Wash Midi...

Happy Hump day!

I have had a fashion filled day in London today attending multiple AW13 press events from Womenswear to Underwear. 

 

Such a good day especially the M&S event which was amazing, their new collections for AW13 are to die for, so much more current and innovative than you would imagine.  The post is to follow this week, stay tuned as you will be pleasantly surprised to see what the new seasons pieces look like.

 

This is what I wore today...my shirt is by PPQ London which I found brand new in a charity shop.  I couldn't believe it and spent about half an hour analysing the tag with my mouth open so speechless at the little gem I had stumbled across!

I have seen so much acid wash denim in the shops lately and remebered I had this little high waisted number which for some strange reason I have only worn once?!  The tights were back out (Really) as it was raining and miserable today - seriously is it May?

Black & Gold...

I appreciate every time I write a post I am hungover but this is probably up there with one of the worst ones. 

I have been in bed allllll day and stitched my nan up. Yes my NAN, please don't judge me. 
I was honest and just said I was a mess, and could no way socialise today, shes pretty cool and said your only young once. Ledge.

I still felt bad though, nans love a plan don't they.

 

Anyway my outfit post today consists of black and gold, what a shocker eh.  It's my all time fave colour combo.  I also had to show you guys my new bargain Topshop jeans, £65 reduced down to £30 in their recent sale. Happy Abbie!  I thought they were a bit grungy and almost a tad old skool - SOLD.

Maxi Style...

Can someone pleeeease tell me what the hell we are meant to be wearing at the moment, I nearly did the big wardrobe S/S A/W change around after the lovely sun we had at the weekend.  Good job I didn't as I was back in my trousers driving to work with the windscreen wipers going and the heating back on this morning. 

For the love of god would this weather make up it's bloody mind. 

I. cannot. handle. it.

 

Anyway rant over, thought I would show you guys this cool 90's maxi dress me and my sister picked up in a charity shop this weekend.  We sell clothes on ASOS Marketplace so had a little stock top up shop and found this gem, I had to style it up and blog about it before we sell it though!  Due to the weather I have teamed it with socks and shoes (winning combo these days) and some dark MAC lippie. 

A bit of a mixture of seasons is this outfit!

Also in other exciting news I got my formal invite for The Company Style Blogger Awards today!  Oh my life I could not beeeee more excited and nervous! 

I am still in shock to even be shortlisted let alone be spending a night with some of my favourite bloggers. 

I must not act like a crazed fan.

 

I have already been chatting away to the lovely Maddie who is shortlisted for the 'Best Personal Style Newcomer' award about outfits.

Midi Dress Bargains...

So I went out last night (shock) and noticed a huge amount of girls rocking the Midi Length dress still.  Considering the weather has been pretty rubbish of late its the perfect style to wear on a night out as you can still flash a bit of flesh and show off your shape without the risk of frost bite. 

There are so many styles in the shops that have caught my eye lately so I thought I would source a few of my favourite prints and colours on this must have hem line but with my kind of price tag to show you all...

I am still all over the Monochrome trend however now the sun has started to hang around a bit longer than one afternoon it makes me want to add more colour and patterns to my wardrobe so I thought these were a good selection! 

Although Midi Dresses are perfect for a night out I also love them dressed down for a more casual look with a denim shirt and Converse for example.

Serious Stripes...

I am currently still recovering from yesterdays all day boozing session, it was such a funny night though so definitely worth the hangover today. 

I am not sure I am overally capable to write to much so just a quick post to show you guys what I wore on Saturday. 

I forgot I had this Kimono style vintage top so thought I should wear it to brighten up an all black outfit. 

The bumbag is a new purchase from Primark, I couldn't say no for fiver so got it in preparation for Bestival.

Double Denim...

Well I hope everyone enjoyed Summer, I spent all of it at work stuck at a desk.

Although the glimpse of the sun has made me go all floral so when Prodigy Red sent me this cute bralet crop top I was all over pairing it with some double denim and showing a bit of flesh.

I have spent this weekend either drunk or hungover, 2 nights out on the bounce has completely ruined me. 

Allllllthough yesterday I found out that I had been shortlisted in the 'Best Fashion Blog' category for the Company Style Blogger Awards 2013 in association with New Look.  I was totally gob smacked and in my fragile hungover state shed a few tears of happiness! 

I did not expect it AT ALL and cannot say thank you enough to any of you that voted for me.

 

Now I'm afraid I am going to have to beg/ask/plead with you all again to vote for the final time...

Denim is for life...

This is an outfit that I wore to the pub tonight, nothing hectic more comfort over anything else as was just catching up with some good mates.

Now this denim jacket I have had since I was 15, no lie.  I remember the days of roaming the streets with my friends wearing this jacket over a hoodie, I would always have a pack of 10 cigs in one of the pockets and a Nokia 3310 in the other.

Oh. My. God how times have changed yet I am still rocking this jacket. 

Alright it might be a little on the snug side but hell am I glad I never chucked it, I have whacked it out every summer (forever hopeful) since 2002 and it has been a faithful wardrobe piece. 

I am such a clothes hoarder.

 

Turned out to be an accidental Monochrome outfit to, I just can't get enough of Black & White at the moment literally in love with this easy S/S trend...
